About the role
The Manager, IT, Data and AI, will lead the planning, delivery, governance and continuous improvement of Destination NSW’s technology services, business applications, digital platforms and data capabilities. You will be responsible for delivering the technology, data and AI roadmap to support future capability growth, while strengthening IT service management, technology governance and vendor oversight. You will work closely with teams across Destination NSW to ensure technology services are reliable, secure and aligned with business priorities, and that data and digital capabilities support better decision-making, service delivery and customer outcomes.
You will also lead the identification and adoption of AI, automation, data and emerging technology solutions to improve business processes, productivity, customer engagement and innovation. This will include developing frameworks and good practice for the responsible use of AI and data, and overseeing initiatives to ensure they deliver agreed outcomes, benefits, budgets and timeframes. You will build strong relationships with technology vendors, suppliers, research organisations and industry partners to explore new opportunities and strengthen organisational capability, while ensuring cyber security, privacy, risk management and responsible AI requirements are embedded in the way technology and data are used across Destination NSW.

About You
You are an experienced technology professional with a strong background in managing IT services, business applications, digital platforms, data capabilities or technology initiatives. You have experience developing and delivering technology, data and AI strategies and roadmaps, as well as leading digital transformation, automation and business improvement initiatives. You understand how AI, data and emerging technologies can be applied in practical ways to improve business performance, service delivery and organisational capability, and can balance innovation with good governance, risk and data management practices.
You are confident working with a wide range of stakeholders and can translate technical concepts into clear information that supports informed decision-making. You have experience managing technology operations, vendors and business applications, and understand what is needed to successfully introduce and embed new technology and ways of working. You can engage and influence leaders, manage change and build capability across diverse teams, while keeping a clear focus on measurable outcomes and demonstrating the value that technology, data and AI can deliver.
