    About Create NSW
Create NSW supports the people, places, communities, and creative work that shape the cultural life of NSW. Through investment, programs and partnerships, we help make creativity visible, valued and part of everyday life. Our work is guided by the NSW Government’s Creative Communities policy and a commitment to a vibrant, inclusive and future-focused sector.

    About the role

Walsh Bay Arts Precinct is a globally significant waterfront destination that brings together leading performing arts companies, artists, audiences, visitors and communities in the heart of Sydney. Home to some of NSW's most important cultural organisations, the precinct is a dynamic environment where arts, culture, public space and placemaking intersect every day.

Create NSW is seeking a highly organised and proactive Precinct Officer to support the operational management and activation of the precinct. This is an exciting opportunity to work across events, venue operations, stakeholder engagement and public domain activation while helping deliver exceptional experiences for tenants, hirers, visitors and audiences. If you enjoy working in a fast-paced environment, thrive on solving problems and want to contribute to the success of one of NSW's most important cultural assets, we'd love to hear from you.

    About the role

Reporting to the Associate Director, Walsh Bay Precinct, you will play a critical role in supporting the day-to-day operation of the precinct and the delivery of a diverse calendar of events, activations and cultural programming. You will coordinate operational activities across shared spaces, support precinct-wide event delivery, maintain strong relationships with tenants and service providers, and contribute to the continuous improvement of visitor and stakeholder experiences.

This is a varied and hands-on role requiring strong organisational capability, sound judgement and a willingness to work both strategically and operationally.

    What you'll be doing

    • Support the operational management of Walsh Bay Arts Precinct and its shared facilities, ensuring a safe, welcoming and efficiently managed environment.
    • Coordinate the delivery of precinct events and activations, including planning, logistics, inductions, site access, contractor management and on-the-day operations.
    • Act as a key point of contact for tenants, hirers, contractors and service providers, fostering positive relationships and facilitating effective communication.
    • Support venue hire and activation activities, including enquiries, bookings, site inspections, documentation and stakeholder coordination.
    • Coordinate precinct services and operational requirements including loading dock access, signage, maintenance requests and shared space management.
    • Monitor and support compliance with work health and safety requirements, operational procedures, event plans and relevant regulatory obligations.
    • Maintain accurate operational records, schedules, reporting and financial documentation using relevant business systems.
    • Prepare correspondence, reports, briefing notes and operational updates for internal and external stakeholders.
    • Contribute to initiatives that enhance precinct operations, visitor experience, placemaking and public activation outcomes.

Comfortable working autonomously, you build strong relationships across diverse stakeholder groups and confidently navigate competing priorities in a dynamic environment.

    You'll bring:

    • Experience in venue operations, precinct management, events, facilities management or a related field, ideally within arts, cultural, visitor economy or public-facing environments.
    • Demonstrated experience developing, implementing and improving operational processes, systems and frameworks that enhance efficiency, compliance and service delivery.
