    Job description

    HSSU  Coordinator

Tunbridge Wells | Bank - Ad Hoc | Part time

    Up to £14.00 per hour

Working on the bank means you are not contracted to a set number of hours per week but instead work on an ad-hoc basis to suit the needs of the business and your availability.

Our HSSU (Hospital Sterile Services Unit) plays a vital role in transporting sterile and disinfected surgical equipment to the local hospital network. Now, you can too. Join the UK’s largest Healthcare Charity and you’ll have every chance to help improve lives. In return, you’ll experience our unrivalled rewards.

    The opportunity

You will work alongside trained professionals to ensure that the theatre environment and equipment are fully operational and maintained to the highest standards. A key responsibility of the role is coordinating and ordering all loan surgical instrumentation and equipment required by the theatre department. You will be responsible for the day-to-day supervision and coordination of the HSSU, as well as managing all theatre loan kits to ensure they are ordered, received, checked, and available for scheduled procedures.

The role includes raising and managing Purchase Orders (POs), liaising with medical device representatives and suppliers, and ensuring all loan instrumentation and equipment are ordered accurately and in a timely manner based on theatre booking forms. You will work closely with clinical and operational teams to ensure all required equipment is available, supporting the safe and efficient delivery of patient care.

To succeed as a HSSU Coordinator you will need:

    • Excellent at communicating and organising.

    • Coordinate, order, track, and manage all theatre loan surgical instrumentation and equipment.

    • Raise and manage Purchase Orders (POs) for loan equipment and related services.

    • Act as the main point of contact for medical representatives and suppliers.

    • Review theatre booking forms and ensure all required loan equipment is ordered in advance.

    • Maintain accurate records and monitor the timely receipt and return of loan instruments.

    • Support safe, efficient, and effective theatre operations through proactive equipment management.

    • Good with basic IT skills as working within HSSU is a computerised environment.

    Helping you feel good.

We want you to love coming to work, feeling healthy, happy and valued. That’s why we’ve developed a benefits package with you in mind. This includes holiday in line with the working time directive, access to our pension scheme and discounted gym membership at £35.00 a month.

Join Nuffield Health and create the future you want, today.
