We are currently seeking a talented individual to become an Assistant Stall Superintendent. An individual could be successful if they possess the following.
ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES
- Lead and provide oversight of Oaklawn’s racing integrity program to assure compliance with regulatory, policy and safety requirements impacting the racing program.
- Develop, revise as necessary and monitor implementation of Oaklawn’s racing integrity plan, ensuring that it is conducted at the highest standards.
- Provide oversight and supervision of morning pre-race veterinary exams and Lasix administration
- Provide afternoon assistance to Association Veterinarian.
- Assist the Stewards and the Commission Veterinarian with out-of-competition and TCO2 testing.
- Assist the Director of Operations and Security Staff with regular inspections of jockeys and the jockeys’ rooms; pony people, exercise riders, outriders, assistant starters, valets and others.
- Assist the Director of Racing and Stewards in the investigation of any incidents resulting in equine injuries.
- Maintains an attitude & philosophy consistent with the company Core Values and Standards of Behavior with internal & external guests
- Punctual attendance required
- Ability to work required overtime.
- Other duties as assigned
QUALIFICATION REQUIREMENTS

- Experience in regulatory, compliance or enforcement environment
- Highly organized and detail oriented
- Demonstrated ability to work within a team environment.

- Strong computer skills
- Able to maintain the highest level of confidentiality
- Able to quickly adapt to changing priorities
- Excellent problem solving skills
- Ability to maintain a calm, professional and friendly demeanor in all situations
- Ability to handle several tasks at the same time
- High School Graduate or GED required, Bachelor's Degree preferred
- Accredited stewards preferred
- Previous work with thoroughbred horses a must
- Previous race track experience
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES
This job may or may not have supervisory responsibilities.
- Manages work procedures and expedites workflow.
LANGUAGE SKILLS
Ability to read and interpret documents in English, such as safety rules, operating and maintenance instructions and procedure manuals. Ability to read and communicate verbally in English. Written communication skills in in English may also be required.
CERTIFICATES, LICENSES, REGISTRATIONS
Employee must be able to qualify for licenses and permits required by federal, state and local regulations.
