Manager – Projects Underground Mining & Infrastructure

Lead a transformational underground expansion at Haile Gold Mine.
OceanaGold is seeking an accomplished Manager – Projects Underground Mining & Infrastructure to lead the planning, design, construction and delivery of our underground mining project at Haile Gold Mine.

This is an exceptional time to join Haile. With the operation progressing toward an exciting future of three underground mines, this role offers the opportunity to take a leading position in a significant phase of Haile’s growth and development.

This is a high-impact senior leadership opportunity for an experienced underground mining and project professional who thrives on delivering complex projects safely, efficiently and successfully. You’ll have overall accountability for project execution, working across engineering, operations, contractors and key stakeholders to deliver an operationally ready underground mine on schedule, within budget and to the highest standards of safety and quality.
What you’ll do:

• Provide strategic and operational leadership for the Haile Underground project.
• Oversee portal and decline development, underground mine design, infrastructure and project execution.
• Drive performance across safety, schedule, cost, quality and risk.
• Lead contractor selection, tendering, contract award and performance management.
• Oversee project budgets, capital expenditure, forecasting and cost optimization.
• Ensure underground development aligns with operational and strategic objectives.
• Build strong relationships with site leadership, operations, contractors, consultants and regulators.
• Lead, mentor and develop a high-performing project team.

• 15+ years of relevant mining/project experience, including 5+ years in a senior underground development and/or start-up role.
• Proven experience delivering projects from inception through to close-out.
• Strong underground mining, project management and project controls experience.
• Experience working across both project start-up and operating environments.
• Demonstrated leadership, stakeholder management, risk management and commercial capability.
• A degree in Engineering or a related discipline such as Mining, Civil, Mechanical or Electrical Engineering.
• Formal project management qualifications and a Mine Manager’s Certificate of
• Competency or equivalent are highly regarded.
