The primary role of the Material Handler is to perform routine inventory, shipping & receiving functions and/or material handling under direct supervision.
· Receive and count stock items, and record data manually or using a mobile computer.
· Pack and unpack items to be stocked on shelves in stockrooms, warehouses, or storage yards.
· Prepare parcels and crates for outbound shipments.
· Verify inventory counts of stock items and notify supervisor of discrepancy.
· Store items in an orderly and accessible manner in warehouses, tool rooms, supply rooms, or other areas.
· Mark stock items using identification tags, stamps, electric marking tools, or other labeling equipment.
· Develop and/or provide support in the general area of Trade Compliance reporting, analysis and maintenance of master compliance data and system accuracy.
· Operate Material Handling equipment, including forklift operation, pallet jacks, and carts.
· Determine proper storage methods, identification, and stock location based on turnover, environmental factors, and physical capabilities of facilities.
· Examine and inspect stock items for wear or defects, reporting any damage to supervisors.
· Aid other stockroom, warehouse, or storage yard workers.
· Always maintains a safe, clean and organized work area
· Other duties as assigned.
