Senior Chicken Little Test Engineer

Position Summary

Odyssey has an exciting opportunity for a Senior Chicken Little Test Engineer supporting the 46 Test Squadron – Sensors and Defensive Systems Flight (46 TS/TGBB) at Eglin AFB, FL under the TMAS III contract.

This senior‑level role provides engineering expertise for the execution of Intelligence, Surveillance, and Reconnaissance (ISR) system testing and Precision Guided Munition (PGM) seeker evaluations supporting Project CHICKEN LITTLE. The Test Engineer will apply extensive electronic warfare (EW) domain experience, radio‑frequency and electro‑optical knowledge, and engineering principles to support test planning, execution, analysis, and documentation throughout weapon system development cycles.

This is a full‑time onsite position at Eglin Air Force Base, Florida, with travel up to 25%.

Responsibilities

Duties include, but not limited to: 

• Perform engineering duties supporting test and evaluation of ISR systems and PGM seekers against foreign mobile targets for Project CHICKEN LITTLE
• Apply engineering, physics, and mathematics principles during ISR and PGM test and evaluation activities
• Assist in development of Project Chicken Little documentation including requirements calls, program management directives, and Program Element Monitor (PEM) responses
• Provide technical expertise to resolve issues of critical importance and support development of system requirements, functional capabilities, performance measures, design constraints, test criteria, and metrics
• Support DT, OT, FDE, and certification for test readiness by identifying deficiencies, verifying compliance, and assessing configuration stability
• Support development of strategic test documents including TEMP, test strategies, ITT Charters, Test Scenario Plans, and Modeling & Simulation Development Plans
• Prepare, execute, review, and analyze test plans, procedures, metrics, and reports throughout the development life cycle
• Develop methods of tests, test cases, test cards/procedures, test directives, technical reports, letter reports, and other test documentation
• Plan, coordinate, and monitor test projects requiring modification of standard practices or adaptation of instrumentation to ensure valid results
• Assess feasibility and soundness of proposed engineering evaluation tests and make recommendations on the conventional aspects of T&E assignments

Qualifications

Citizenship: Must be a US citizen

Minimum Required Qualifications

Clearance: Active Secret clearance

Education: Master’s Degree in a technical discipline

Years of Experience: 10 years of technical experience (additional years may substitute for education)

• Extensive experience in electronic warfare (EW) operations.
• Experience with radio‑frequency, electro‑optical, and electronic combat techniques.
• Proficiency with Microsoft Office products.
• Ability to lead, direct, and work effectively on a team.
• Willingness to work extended hours when mission requires.

Preferred Qualifications

Years of experience: 20 years of experience in electronic warfare operations

Technical Skills

• Extensive experience in electronic warfare (EW) operations
• Knowledge and experience with radio‑frequency, electro‑optical, and electronic combat techniques
• Ability to apply engineering, physics, and mathematics principles to ISR and PGM testing
• Experience supporting DT, OT, FDE, and certification activities
• Ability to develop detailed test documentation including TEMP, test strategies, test scenario plans, methods of test, test cards, procedures, and metrics
• Experience analyzing deficiencies, verifying compliance with specifications, and evaluating system stability
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite (Word, Excel, PowerPoint)

Interpersonal Skills

• Demonstrated ability to lead and direct the work of others
• Ability to work effectively in a team environment
• Strong oral and written communication skills, including technical writing and formal presentations
• Ability to support high‑tempo test environments, including extended work hours, weekends, and holidays when required
