Product Detailer Intern

The Project Detailer Intern will support the detailing team by assisting in the preparation, review, and improvement of detailed drawings used for customer approval and fabrication. This role provides hands-on experience in engineering design, project coordination, and manufacturing processes. The intern will learn company policies and standards while contributing to accurate, efficient drawings that meet customer specifications and production needs.

Essential Duties & Responsibilities

• Assist in preparing and reviewing detail drawings for customer approval.
• Support revisions to drawings based on customer feedback and prepare documentation for fabrication (BOMs, saw sheets, fabrication sheets, packing lists, etc.).
• Help coordinate internal and external detailing schedules to ensure timely delivery of drawings.
• Collaborate with team members to align detailing timelines with fabrication start dates.
• Assist in tracking project progress and maintaining high standards of output.
• Communicate with internal teams (engineering, sales, plant operations) to support workflow and project success.
• Participate in problem-solving efforts related to field claims and customer concerns.
• Support improvements to drawings and processes that enhance fabrication efficiency.
• Assist in maintaining organized records and documentation for ongoing and completed projects.
• Contribute ideas for detailing functions.
• Perform other duties as assigned.

Education, Experience & Skills

• Currently pursuing or recently completed education in Engineering or a related field.
• Basic knowledge of drafting or detailing concepts (coursework or internship experience preferred).
• Familiarity with AutoCAD or similar design software is a plus.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook).
• Strong attention to detail and organizational skills.
• Ability to manage multiple tasks in a fast-paced environment.
• Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
• Positive attitude, willingness to learn, and adaptability.
