Inspect freight to determine commodity based on National Motor Freight Classification descriptions
Identify proper NMFC item number, sub and class
Verify that the appropriate NMFC item number and class are on the shippers Bill of Lading (BOL) contract
Issue billing corrections based on inspections completed and customer contract
Audit, correct, and resolve BOL errors and notify appropriate parties of changes
Produce electronic Freight Inspection Reports giving details regarding shipment dimensions, cubes, densities and proper NMFC descriptions
Produce weekly summary of workload, issues, and other activities in EXCEL spreadsheets and Lotus Notes databases
Maintain knowledge and ability to serve as a resource to local service center for NMFC classifications, packaging, and how products are sold at market and ensure all laws, regulations, and company standards are consistently upheld
Degree in Transportation or Engineering preferred
3+ yrs experience or equivalent combination of experience and education
Legal Authorization to Work in the US
6 Month Contract +/-
Shifts: Mon-Sun, 3AM-9AM
Pay: DOE
