What You’ll Do
As the Insurance Coordinator, you’ll be responsible for managing all aspects of insurance claims, patient billing, and accounts receivable. You’ll play a key role in maintaining the financial health of the practice while ensuring a seamless experience for patients and providers alike.
Key Responsibilities:
- Prepare and submit accurate dental insurance claims and predeterminations (electronic and paper).
- Follow up on unpaid claims, rejections, and predeterminations, ensuring timely resolution.
- Communicate with insurance companies regarding eligibility and benefits.
- Maintain monthly billing statements and patient accounts.
- Contact patients regarding outstanding balances and coordinate payment plans.
- Manage accounts receivable, collections, and determine accounts for agency placement when necessary.
- Professionally answer incoming calls and assist in routing to the correct department.
- Perform additional duties as assigned to support the billing and operations team.
What You Bring
- Minimum 1 year of dental or medical billing experience (required).
- Strong understanding of insurance processes, benefits, and collections.
- Excellent communication skills — written, verbal, and electronic.
- High attention to detail and strong organizational abilities.
- Proficiency in Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint).
- A professional, dependable, and team-oriented attitude.
Education:
- High school diploma or equivalent (required).
- Additional coursework or certification in billing, finance, or healthcare administration (preferred).
