    Job description

    About One Acre Fund

Founded in 2006, One Acre Fund equips 5.5 million smallholder farmers to make their farms more productive. Across nine countries that together are home to two-thirds of Africa's farmers, we provide high-quality farm supplies, tree seedlings, accessible credit, modern agronomic training, and a wide range of other agricultural services. On average, this model enables any farmer to increase their income and assets on supported land by more than 35 percent, while permanently improving their resilience. This is all made possible by our team of 9,000+ full-time staff, drawn from diverse backgrounds and professions. To learn more, please see our Why Work Here blog post.

We started working in Nigeria in 2018, serving just 150 farmers. That figure grew year on year, and we now serve more than 300,000 farmers across Niger, Kwara, and Nasarawa states.

    About the Role

We are seeking a Junior Finance Analyst to safeguard our financial ecosystem, strengthen controls, optimise reporting systems, and serve as a strategic business partner across departments. In this role, you'll build stronger internal controls, improve reporting workflows, and turn complex financial data into actionable insights that directly influence executive decision-making across the program.

    Responsibilities

    Risk & Controls Ownership

    • Implement and monitor internal financial controls, manage audit coordination, and enforce strict compliance with Nigerian financial/tax regulations (VAT, WHT, PAYE, CIT)

    Balance Sheet Oversight

    • Reconcile key balance sheet accounts (receivables, payables, inventory, and petty cash) to protect cash flow and data integrity.

    Reporting, BVAs & Forecasting

    • Build financial models, perform regular Budget vs. Actual (BVA) analyses, and deliver clear forecasts and executive reporting to support strategic decisions.

    Cross-Functional Partnering

    • Serve as the primary finance partner to non-finance department leads, building financial capability and discipline across teams.

    Career Growth and Development

We have a strong culture of constant learning and we invest in developing our people. You’ll have weekly check-ins with your manager, access to mentorship and training programs, and regular feedback on your performance. We hold career reviews every six months, and set aside time to discuss your aspirations and career goals. You’ll have the opportunity to shape a growing organization and build a rewarding long-term career.

    Qualifications

Across all roles, these are the general qualifications we look for. For this role specifically, you will have:

    • 3–5 years of experience in financial reporting, internal controls, audit, or risk management
    • Strong understanding of Nigerian tax laws and statutory reporting standards.
    • Hands-on experience evaluating control frameworks, conducting balance sheet reconciliations, and coordinating audits.
    • Stakeholder management and coordination skills to present complex financial insights clearly.
    • High personal accountability with a proven ability to resolve process bottlenecks and trace discrepancies to root causes.
    • Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Finance, Economics, or a related field.
