The Applications Engineer will be involved in the entire process from new product development to technical support for mass production. The primary responsibility includes defining development targets and validating performance for new technology Si and SiC devices through comprehensive testing.
Proficiency in handling high-voltage power supplies, digital oscilloscopes, electronic loads, and DMMs for power electronics experiments is essential.
This role also supports design assistance for new and existing products, customer technical support, and preparation of promotional materials related to the product portfolio. Technical support includes troubleshooting customer issues, designing evaluation boards with user guides, and writing application notes.
Additionally, the engineer will design and validate test circuits and PCBs for analyzing new product characteristics.
Responsibilities
- Work within the Application team to support BU objectives
- Define and validate specifications for Si and SiC devices
- Conduct comprehensive experiments to verify product performance
- Design and build customized test circuits and automated test systems for product characterization
- Provide technical support including design reviews, promotional material preparation, and customer issue troubleshooting
- Develop evaluation boards for target applications
- Prepare and deliver technical collateral (datasheets, application notes, user guides)
Qualifications
Requirements:
- Master’s degree or higher in Electrical/Electronic Engineering
- English communication skills (written and verbal)
- Basic understanding of Si and SiC MOSFET principles and their role in power electronics
- Basic knowledge of power conversion systems
Preferences:
- Experience in electrical/electronic/semiconductor industry, particularly in device characterization or application engineering
- In-depth knowledge of power semiconductor devices, including IGBT and SiC MOSFET
- Understanding of various topologies and power conversion (AC/DC, DC/DC)
- Understanding of high-power system (ESS/PV/UPS)
- Technical skills: P-Spice, Simetrix, PCB Layout (Altium), MATLAB, and Q3D, etc.
