Software Engineer

What You’ll Do

Flatiron Health, Inc. seeks a Software Engineer at its New York, NY location.

Description: Translate project requirements into meticulous technical design documents and provide a project blueprint for the software implementation and deployment phases. Design and implement robust data models that accurately represent complex data structures and requirements.  Develop robust service endpoints adhering to RESTful principles, ensuring seamless/uninterrupted communication between backend systems and external interfaces.  Develop user-friendly frontend UI components with priority on usability and accessibility to enhance user experience. Determine system performance standards. Modify existing software to correct errors, adapt it to new hardware, or upgrade interfaces and improve performance. Apply complex software debugging techniques and troubleshooting methodologies to address product issues and maintain system integrity/stability. Implement optimized and scalable product lineups through application of industry-leading technologies to efficiently build, package, and deliver data in accordance with customer specifications and business requirements. Who You Are 

The position requires the following:

• Master’s degree, or foreign degree equivalent, in Computer Science, Data Science or closely related field.
• Special Experience: Must have experience (academic or professional) with each of the following:

1. Python, API Design
2. React/JavaScript
3. AWS and PostgreSQL
4. Developing apps using modern front-end frameworks like React
5. Distributed Systems Design
6. Object Oriented Programming
7. Data Modeling including defining database schema, entity relationships, and ensuring data consistency across services
8. Backend Development implementing server-side business logic, APIs, and services using Python frameworks, and
9. cloud computing.

• May telecommute 2 days per week.

Job Compensation Range

• Salary Range: $163,090.20 to $194,400 per year
• Preferred primary location: NYC
• The expected annual salary range for this position based on the primary location for this position of New York, New York is $163,090.20 to $194,400 per year.  Actual pay within the range will be determined based on experience, qualifications, geographic location, and other job-related factors permitted by law. A discretionary annual bonus may be available based on individual and Company performance.
