    The Oracle Cloud Infrastructure (OCI) team can provide you with the opportunity to build and operate a suite of massive scale, integrated cloud services in a broadly distributed, multi-tenant cloud environment.  OCI is committed to providing the best in cloud products that meet the needs of our customers who are tackling some of the world’s biggest challenges.

    The Virtual Networking team within OCI delivers Network-as-a-Service that handles planning, provisioning, life cycle management and security of our customers' network infrastructure.

    This is an opportunity to be a part of a team that is bootstrapping a brand new OCI service and build innovative solutions for our customers from the ground up.  We are looking for hands-on engineers with expertise and passion in solving difficult problems related to high-availability and scalability in service-oriented architecture. These are exciting times, and our team is growing fast, working on ambitious new initiatives.  An engineer at any level can have significant technical and business impact. We are looking for adaptable, self-motivated engineers with ability to learn quickly.

    Responsibilities

    We are looking for engineers that are eager to take requirements and turn those into high-quality solutions. You should be both a rock-solid coder and a distributed systems generalist, able to dive deep into any part of the stack and low-level systems, as well as design broad distributed system interactions. You should value simplicity and scale, work comfortably in a collaborative, agile environment, and be excited to learn.

    Basic Qualifications:

    8+ years of experience with systems/application development

    5+ years of experience with distributed systems OR network programming

    Proficient at programming in any one of C++, Java

    Proficient with data structures, algorithms, and operating systems.

    Master’s in computer science and engineering or related engineering fields

    Experience with distributed systems: familiarity with CAP theorem, Consensus, messaging, High Availability etc.

    Preferred Qualifications:

    PhD degree in Computer Science or related engineering fields

    Experience in Cloud Networking and/or Infrastructure-as-a-Service, viz. OpenStack, AWS, GCP, Azure.

    Experience in building application at cloud scale

    US: Hiring Range in USD from: $114,600 to $234,600 per annum. May be eligible for bonus, equity, and compensation deferral.
    Oracle maintains broad salary ranges for its roles in order to account for variations in knowledge, skills, experience, market conditions and locations, as well as reflect Oracle's differing products, industries and lines of business.
    Candidates are typically placed into the range based on the preceding factors as well as internal peer equity.

Vacation accrual is prorated for employees working between 20 and 34 hours per week. Employees working fewer than 20 hours per week are not eligible for vacation.

    10. Paid sick leave: 72 hours of paid sick leave upon date of hire. Refreshes each calendar year. Unused balance will carry over each year up to a maximum cap of 112 hours.
