    Job description

    The Orthopaedic Surgery Team at UT Medical Center is seeking a full-time Operating Room Attendant to support the Orthopaedic Institute, one of the medical center’s nine Centers of Excellence. Through a long-standing partnership with KOC providers, this role supports orthopaedic surgical care at the region’s only academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center.

    This entry-level position is an excellent opportunity for individuals interested in healthcare or those who would like to explore the surgical environment. No previous experience is necessary. We are proud to provide opportunities for high school graduates, students, and others who may be considering a future career in healthcare.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Transport patients safely throughout the surgical department.

    • Assist with positioning patients for surgical procedures.

    • Maneuver hospital beds and other patient-transport equipment.

    • Help prepare and turn over operating rooms between procedures.

    • Stock, organize, and maintain supplies and inventory.

    • Safely move and handle heavy surgical equipment.

    • Support the surgical team with additional duties as needed.

    • Help create a safe, welcoming, and positive experience for patients.

    • Follow all departmental, hospital, and safety policies and procedures.

    Qualifications

    • No previous healthcare or operating room experience required.

    • Basic Life Support certification will be obtained upon hire.

    • Ability to safely maneuver hospital beds and assist with patient transport.

    • Ability to lift, move, and carefully handle heavy surgical equipment.

    • Ability to organize and maintain supply inventory.

    • Willingness to learn and work in a fast-paced surgical environment.
