Join the Orthopaedic Surgery Team at UT Medical Center, the region’s only academic medical center and Level I Trauma Center. This full-time RN Circulator position supports the Orthopaedic Institute—one of UT Medical Center’s nine Centers of Excellence—through its long-standing partnership with KOC providers.
The RN Circulator will assist with highly specialized orthopaedic procedures, including orthopaedic trauma cases, while working closely with surgeons and other clinical team members to promote patient safety and optimal outcomes.
Plan, prepare, and support assigned orthopaedic surgical procedures as the RN Circulator.
Assist with highly specialized orthopaedic surgeries, including trauma cases.
Perform and document surgical counts.
Coordinate specimen collection, labeling, and management.
Assist with safe and appropriate patient positioning.
Complete accurate and timely electronic medical record documentation.
Collaborate closely with surgeons, anesthesia providers, surgical technologists, and other clinical team members.
Advocate for patients throughout the surgical experience.
Follow AORN standards and all applicable departmental, hospital, and KOC policies and procedures.
Participate in holiday coverage and the on-call rotation after completing orientation.
Current Registered Nurse license through the Board of Nursing.
Associate of Science in Nursing from an accredited school required; Bachelor of Science in Nursing preferred.
Minimum of two years of registered nursing experience required.
Previous surgical or operating room experience preferred.
Candidates without surgical experience must complete approximately three to four months of day-shift training.
American Heart Association BLS, ACLS, and PALS certifications required; certifications may be obtained and coordinated upon hire.
Ability to meet holiday-coverage requirements.
Ability to take call and respond to the hospital within 30 minutes after completing orientation.
