Manager, Finance Global Operations

Overview

Rapiscan, an OSI Systems Company is seeking a Manager, Finance Global Operations, based out of Billerica, MA.

The Manager, Finance Global Operations will oversee the annual budgeting process, monthly forecasting, headcount planning, operating expense management, and financial analysis supporting operational decision-making. In addition, this role will provide leadership and oversight of key cost accounting processes and activities across the global organization, driving consistency in labor and overhead application methodologies, inventory accounting practices, excess and obsolete reserve analysis, global inventory management, cycle count programs, and operational financial controls.

The ideal candidate will possess a strong combination of FP&A, manufacturing finance, and cost accounting expertise and serve as a trusted advisor to operations leadership while helping drive financial discipline, process standardization, operational excellence, and continuous improvement across Rapiscan's global operations footprint.

Responsibilities

• Serve as the lead finance business partner to the EVP of Global Operations and the global operations leadership team.
• Manage Americas Sr. Cost Accountant with dotted line reporting from international Cost Accounting personnel.
• Lead the annual budgeting process for all global operations functions.
• Manage monthly forecasting processes, including operating expenses, labor costs, inventory, headcount requirements, and key operational spending categories.
• Manage monthly financial close cost accounting activities
• Analyze monthly financial performance including labor/headcount, temporary labor, and other operating expenses against budget and forecast.
• Prepare executive-level reporting packages, presentations, and financial analyses for operations and finance leadership including explanations of variances, business drivers, risks, and opportunities.
• Perform financial and operational analyses supporting manufacturing, supply chain, sourcing, procurement, logistics, quality, and inventory management functions.
• Establish overhead rates for inventory and labor and update as appropriate.
• Analyze manufacturing costs, labor utilization, overhead absorption rates, inventory trends, and supply chain costs.
• Lead global efforts to establish consistency and best practices in operational finance and cost accounting processes across all manufacturing locations.
• Participate in all financial and internal control compliance audits to ensure a strong SOX-compliant control environment.
• Prepares documentation for external auditors as it pertains to price testing of inventory costs.
• Partner with site finance and operations leadership to ensure consistent application of cost accounting methodologies including labor and manufacturing overhead rates and absorption, global excess and obsolescence and ERP processes.
• Support strategic initiatives, footprint optimization projects, productivity programs, restructuring activities, and operational improvement efforts.
• Establish consistent reporting and performance metrics across global manufacturing and operational locations.
• Manage, evaluate and develop team of employees to meet functional deliverables and responsibilities. Complete company people management requirements.  Exhibit manager core competencies.

Qualifications

• Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting, Finance or equivalent experience
• A CPA or a CMA is desirable
• 8+ years of progressive Finance experience in FP&A, Cost Accounting, Operations Finance or related Financial leadership roles
• Demonstrated experience supporting manufacturing, supply chain, and operations organizations within a global environment.
• Strong understanding of average costing, inventory accounting, labor and overhead absorption methodologies, E&O reserve processes, and inventory control programs.
• Must possess a work record that exhibits a high degree of accomplishment and leadership
• Ability to deliver results through others, both direct and matrixed. Proven ability to lead, develop, motivate and hold others accountable.
• Must be able to complete job responsibilities working with global time zone needs, occasionally attending late night/ early morning meetings to work with global business partners.
• Strong proficiency with office productivity applications (Microsoft Excel, PowerPoint, Word)
• Experience with integrated ERP software, Microsoft Dynamics 365 preferred
• Must be able to work independently and on multiple projects simultaneously
• Superior organizational skills and attention to details
• Work requires effective oral and written communications skills
• Strong analytical skills
• Ability to travel 10-15%

Pay may range from $142,000 to $148,000

The pay range above represents annual base salary only.  Final compensation will be determined based on factors such as your job level, geographic location, date of hire, experience, job-related knowledge and skills, and education in conjunction with market and business considerations.
