Overlay is building the world’s first intelligent makeup robot, reimagining beauty application through robotics, perception, and design.
As a venture-backed, pre-launch startup, we’re defining a new category of personal robotics at the intersection of beauty, self-expression, and engineering. Our system operates directly on the human face, requiring an unprecedented level of precision, safety, and real-world robustness.

Why This Role Is Different
We’re looking for a Social Content Intern to shape and grow our social presence across TikTok and Instagram on founder-led channels.
This role is for someone who understands beauty, makeup, skincare, luxury wellness, visual storytelling, and internet-native content. You’ll help film and edit the stories that get told across our social media channels.
What You’ll Do
- Film and edit product-led, community-led, founder-led, and behind-the-scenes content.
- Develop repeatable content formats around beauty, makeup, skincare, luxury wellness, product craft, and customer stories.
- Turn raw footage, founder ideas, product updates, customer conversations, and event moments into strong social concepts.
- Help create hooks, captions, scripts, subtitles, and simple creative briefs.
- Capture content at the office, in homes, prototype tests, community gatherings, founder workdays, and product moments.
- Track performance and use audience insights to improve hooks, pacing, topics, formats, and distribution.
What We’re Looking For
- You are early-career, in college, recently graduated, or building your own portfolio in social content.
- You understand TikTok, Instagram Reels, internet pacing, hooks, subtitles, and native short-form formats.
- You have good visual taste and a feel for what makes a moment beautiful, intimate, or worth watching.
- You are interested in beauty, makeup, skincare, wellness, and/or premium consumer brands.
- You are comfortable filming casually and making real moments feel polished without overproducing them.
- You are organized and can manage footage, drafts, edits, revisions, and publishing support.
- Must be enthusiastic about using AI and able to bring AI deep into the workflow for content production, creative iteration, customer research, personalization, and ops to move faster and smarter than teams many times our size.

- Experience filming or editing wellness, gym, hospitality, fashion, beauty, lifestyle, founder, or consumer product content.
- A personal TikTok, Reels, or content portfolio.
- A genuine interest in makeup, skincare, beauty products, and its related subcultures.

Compensation: The wage range for this position is $18-20 per hour based on prior experience.
