Darkroom Student Assistant

The Darkroom Assistant in the Art Department is an exciting technical position for a student who has experience with black and white film developing. The Darkroom Assistant conducts open darkroom sessions independently outside of class.

Position Duties/Responsibilities - Duties include:

• Open the darkroom, mix photography chemicals and set up equipment. 
• Assist students in developing film and making photographic prints. 
• Recycle chemicals and clean at session’s end.
• Ensure that chemicals are closed and labeled properly. 
• Maintain cleanliness of the photo lab and darkroom. 
• Enforce rule: no food or drink in the photo lab or darkroom, and insure that only students enrolled in current classes are permitted to use the labs.

• MUST be Federal-Work-Study Eligible.
• Have completed ART 153
• Strong written and verbal communication skills
• Ability to work independently
• Strong organizational skills
