The Digital Lab Assistant in the Art Department is an exciting technical position for a student who has knowledge of and experience with Apple computers, software, camera equipment and basic maintenance. They will also assist students and faculty with camera, video and audio equipment used in classroom instruction.
Position Duties/Responsibilities:
- Duties will include checking out camera equipment to students enrolled in digital and photo classes,
- Filing and compiling information and records of students who use these resources,
- Contacting students who fail to return equipment by the due date,
- Keeping the equipment room organized and clean.
- Overseeing Open Hours when classes are not in session,
- Assisting students with digital design software, and printing.
- Track printer usage and replace ink cartridges,
- Troubleshooting problems in the lab, and reporting these problems to the Digital Lab Coordinator.
- The Assistant will conduct OS maintenance and management for lab computers as instructed by Art department faculty and the Digital Lab Coordinator.
- They will maintain cleanliness of the lab, enforce lab rule: no food or drink in the Labs,
- Insure that only students enrolled in current classes are permitted to use the Lab.
- We are looking for a student who is responsible, punctual, and comfortable with Mac computers and equipment.
- Reliable and patient with visitors
