The Department of Environmental Studies and Science is seeking a Graduate Assistant to support departmental operations, communications, and events. This is a great opportunity for a graduate student interested in gaining hands-on experience in academic administration, science communication, and program coordination.
Responsibilities
- Assist with lab supply and equipment purchasing, including tracking orders, coordinating with vendors, and maintaining inventory records
- Support day-to-day departmental coordination and administrative tasks
- Create and manage content for departmental social media accounts to highlight faculty research, student achievements, and department news
- Help maintain and update the department website, including posting news, events, and program information
- Assist with planning and logistics for departmental events, guest speakers, and student activities
- Provide general support to faculty and staff as needed
- Currently enrolled in a graduate program at Pace University (Environmental Science and Policy, or related field preferred)
- Strong organizational skills and attention to detail
- Comfort with social media platforms (Instagram, LinkedIn, etc.) and basic content creation
- Familiarity with website content management systems a plus
- Excellent written communication skills
- Ability to work independently and manage multiple tasks
