Senior Estimator Engineer
Job Summary:
Chief Estimator Engineer will be responsible for assessing project requirements, creating accurate cost estimates, and supporting the project management process of Pacific Rim and affiliated entities.
This role requires a combination of technical expertise, analytical skills, and effective collaboration with diverse stakeholders within the local context.
Essential Duties & Responsibilities:
- Collaborate with project managers and engineering teams to understand project specifications, requirements, and objectives.
- Conduct site visits, when necessary, to gather information relevant to estimating.
- Develop accurate and detailed cost estimates for engineering projects, including labor, materials, equipment, and overhead costs.
- Utilize estimating software and tools to ensure precision in cost calculations.
- Consider industry standards, regulations, and local market conditions in estimating costs.
- Prepare comprehensive bid proposals based on the cost estimates, ensuring alignment with project requirements and client expectations.
- Collaborate with procurement teams to obtain accurate pricing for materials and subcontractor services.
- Identify potential risks and uncertainties associated with the project and incorporate risk factors into cost estimates.
- Work closely with project managers to develop risk mitigation strategies.
- Maintain detailed and organized records of all estimates, assumptions, and methodologies used in the estimating process.
- Ensure that all estimates comply with company policies and industry standards.
- Present estimates and proposals to internal teams, clients, and stakeholders in a clear and professional manner.
- Collaborate with project managers, engineers, and clients to address any questions or modifications to the estimates.
- Stay informed about industry trends, material costs, and construction methodologies to enhance the accuracy of future estimates.
- Provide feedback on project outcomes to improve estimating processes.
Skills & Qualifications:
- Bachelor's degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or a related field.
- Proven experience as an Estimator in engineering or construction projects.
- Proficient in using estimating software and tools.
- Strong analytical and mathematical skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Attention to detail and accuracy in estimating.
- At least 10 years of work experience as an estimator.
Preferred Skills:
- Licensed Engineer (PRC).
- Familiarity with relevant industry regulations and standards.
- Knowledge of construction methods, materials, and equipment.
