    Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON)
    San Bruno Skilled Nursing
    Location: San Bruno, CA
    Schedule: Full-Time, Monday-Friday
    Salary: $100,000-$115,000 annually

    San Bruno Skilled Nursing is seeking an experienced and compassionate Assistant Director of Nursing (ADON) to support our Director of Nursing in overseeing the delivery of high-quality resident care. This leadership role is responsible for assisting with the management of nursing operations, staff development, regulatory compliance, and clinical excellence within our skilled nursing facility.

    Essential Responsibilities

    • Assist the Director of Nursing (DON) with planning, organizing, and supervising nursing department activities.
    • Support the development, implementation, and evaluation of nursing policies, procedures, and clinical programs.
    • Participate in recruiting, hiring, onboarding, training, and retaining nursing staff.
    • Assist with employee evaluations, coaching, performance management, and corrective action when necessary.
    • Serve as a resource and backup to the DON, RN, and LVN teams.
    • Provide direct resident care as needed to support clinical operations.
    • Conduct daily rounds to monitor resident conditions and ensure quality care standards are met.
    • Promote resident safety, dignity, rights, and overall well-being.
    • Collaborate with physicians, residents, families, and interdisciplinary team members to coordinate care.
    • Attend and lead nursing department meetings in the absence of the DON.
    • Prepare reports and provide recommendations regarding nursing services and operational improvements.
    • Assist with the design and implementation of systems that support consistent, resident-centered care.
    • Coordinate and facilitate ongoing staff education and in-service training programs.
    • Maintain confidentiality regarding resident, employee, and facility information.
    • Stay current with federal, state, and local regulations and communicate updates to staff as needed.

    Qualifications

    • Graduate of an accredited School of Nursing.
    • Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred.
    • Current and unrestricted California RN license in good standing.
    • Minimum of 3-5 years of nursing management experience, preferably in a skilled nursing or long-term care setting.
    • Strong leadership, communication, and organizational skills.
    • Knowledge of state and federal regulations governing skilled nursing facilities.
    • Proficient in Microsoft Office applications; PCC experience preferred.
    • Must maintain required continuing education and licensure requirements.

    Preferred Skills

    • Ability to analyze and interpret healthcare regulations, reports, and policies.
    • Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
    • Experience managing multidisciplinary teams and clinical operations.
    • Ability to effectively communicate with residents, families, physicians, and staff.

    Physical Requirements

    • Ability to stand, walk, sit, bend, and perform nursing duties throughout the workday.
    • Ability to occasionally lift or move up to 25 pounds.
    • Frequent use of computers, telephones, and office equipment.
    • Occasional travel may be required.
