The position of MRI Tech is responsible for preparing patients and supplies for procedures, assisting the physician obtain images, and maintaining a clean, organized operating room.
ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS
1) Arrives at least 30 minutes prior to scheduled start times dependably and punctually.
2) Check C-arm and other equipment for use before procedures.
3) Prepares and opens supplies for procedures.
4) Assists patients with transfer from stretcher to OR table.
5) Performs patient skin preparation.
6) Positions the C-arm for the physician to obtain adequate images.
7) Cleans and organizes the room before and after procedures.
8) Purchases supplies and maintains accurate inventory to forecast needs and prevent any supply-chain lapse, with ongoing monitoring of costs, availability of new or improved supply options, and awareness of current vendor arrangements.
9) Maintains specialized equipment and utilizes knowledge of radiology equipment.
10) Completes all exams according to department policy and protocols.
11) Organizes workload during high volume to expedite patient care and communicates to other technologist(s) all pending exams and any pertinent information.
12) Follows safety precautions. Follows necessary and pertinent safety precautions during the performance of job duties, to prevent injury to self and/or to prevent damage to hospital equipment or property.
13) Performs other related duties as assigned.
