    About Altior Healthcare

Our family of services comprises three distinct mental health treatment programs, including a specialized program for US Veterans. With over 15 unique locations, we manage and support 500+ dedicated employees serving over 300 residential clients daily located across five states: California, Idaho, Maine, New Hampshire, and Texas.

For over a decade, our core clinical and support teams have worked side-by-side, delivering compassionate, evidence-based treatment that changes lives.

As part of the Altior network, you’ll find the stability of an established organization with the heart of a close-knit treatment community where every role matters.

    Job Summary

The Admissions Therapist is responsible for conducting clinical assessments, providing therapeutic intake interviews, and facilitating the admission of new clients into the program. This role serves as a critical bridge between prospective clients, families, and internal clinical teams—guiding individuals through the intake process, evaluating clinical appropriateness, and ensuring a smooth and supportive transition into care.

    Responsibilities

    • Conduct comprehensive intake assessments, including clinical, psychological, and risk evaluations.
    • Determine eligibility and appropriateness for admission based on program criteria and clinical judgment.
    • Meet with prospective clients and families in person, by phone, or via telehealth to explain treatment options, policies, and program expectations.
    • Collaborate with multidisciplinary clinical teams to review cases and make admission determinations.
    • Prepare, maintain, and manage all intake-related documentation, including assessment reports, intake summaries, and admission paperwork.
    • Provide referrals and alternative resources when the program is not clinically appropriate or is at capacity.
    • Maintain confidentiality and ensure compliance with all regulatory, licensing, and accreditation standards.
    • Participate in admissions committees or case review meetings as required.
    • Follow up with pending admissions to answer questions and assist with logistics such as scheduling and insurance coordination.
    • Provide crisis intervention and clinical support as needed during the intake process.
    • Collaborate with outreach, marketing, and referral partners to support referral development and admissions growth.
    • Track and report admissions metrics (e.g., conversion rates, no-shows, demographics) and assist in improving admissions workflows.

    Qualifications

    • Licensed mental health professional (LCSW, LMFT, LPC, Psychologist) or eligible for licensure.
    • Clinical experience in behavioral health specialties such as mental health, substance use, or trauma.
    • Previous experience in clinical admissions, call center environments, or customer service required.
    • Strong clinical assessment, diagnostic, and decision-making skills.
    • Excellent communication skills with the ability to support clients and families during emotionally sensitive situations.
    • Ability to work collaboratively with multidisciplinary clinical and administrative teams.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Flexibility in schedule, including availability for evenings and/or weekends as needed.
    • Experience working with youth and families in behavioral health, residential treatment, or substance use recovery settings.
    • Knowledge of mental and behavioral health systems of care.
    • Familiarity with CRM platforms or admissions tracking systems.
    Salary Range
    $70,000—$75,000 USD

    Benefits

    • Comprehensive benefits package: medical, dental, and vision.
    • 401k with 4% match.
    • Paid Time Off Programs including vacation, holidays, and illness.

    For Direct Care roles:

    • Chef made meals onsite.
    • Professional trainings provided for development; continuing education assistance for clinicians.
    • Supportive clinical supervision and professional development.
