The Security Alarm Technician will perform installations, upgrades, and servicing of electronic control systems, which may include alarm systems, CCTV, custom audio and video, networking, home automation/system integration, and structured wiring.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities:
- Installation, service and inspection of security alarms and associated low voltage systems
- Completion of all wiring, connections, and equipment installations ensuring that systems are complete and operational according to contract requirements and prescribed standards
- Responsible for the connection of control panels, application requirements, wire concealment, and security software installation
- Troubleshooting new systems to ensure system is functioning properly
- Inspection of equipment visually and replacement of defective components
- Performs preventive inspections maintenance tasks in accordance with pre-established schedules and documents results/recommendations of maintenance
- Provides on-site emergency troubleshooting and repairs of customers’ security equipment
- Prepares accurate timely service tickets and reports
- Ensures a high level of and customer service, satisfaction and communication
- Maintains a clean and safe work environment on and off site
- Minimum 2 years experience in the physical security, fire alarm or low voltage communication industry installing field devices and programming systems
- Experience working with Honeywell, DMP, Telguard, or Alarm.com equipment is desired
- Demonstrated ability to install, troubleshoot, and repair various systems, controls and equipment with minimal supervision
- Ability to deal with a variety of people in a professional, courteous manner in diversified situations
- Ability to provide excellent customer service to clients
- Ability to work independently or as a member of a team
