    About the Role:

    The Registration Clerk plays a critical role in the healthcare sector by ensuring accurate and efficient patient registration and data management. This position serves as the first point of contact for patients, responsible for collecting and verifying personal, insurance, and medical information to facilitate smooth visit and treatment processes. The role demands meticulous attention to detail to maintain the integrity of patient records and compliance with healthcare regulations. The Registration Clerk collaborates closely with medical staff, billing departments, and patients to resolve discrepancies and support seamless communication. Ultimately, this position contributes significantly to the overall patient experience and operational efficiency within the healthcare facility.

    Qualifications:

    • High school diploma or equivalent.
    • Strong organizational skills and attention to detail.
    • Experience preferred but not required!
    • Experience with specific healthcare registration software such as ECW.
    • Familiarity with HIPAA regulations and patient privacy standards.
    • Excellent communication skills, both verbal and written.
    • Ability to handle high-pressure situations with professionalism and empathy.

    Responsibilities:

    • Greet and assist patients upon arrival, ensuring a welcoming and professional environment.
    • Collect, verify, and accurately enter patient demographic, insurance, and medical information.
    • Confirm patient eligibility and coverage details with insurance providers to facilitate billing and claims processing.
    • Maintain confidentiality and security of patient information in compliance with HIPAA and other relevant regulations.
    • Coordinate with clinical and administrative staff to resolve registration issues and update patient records as necessary.
    • Manage appointment scheduling and patient check-in/check-out procedures efficiently.
    • Handle inquiries from patients and healthcare providers regarding registration and insurance matters.
    • Prepare and maintain daily reports related to patient registration activities and data accuracy.

    Skills:

    The Registration Clerk utilizes strong organizational and data entry skills daily to ensure patient information is accurately captured and maintained, which is essential for effective healthcare delivery. Communication skills are employed to interact clearly and compassionately with patients and healthcare staff, facilitating smooth registration and problem resolution.   Additionally, adherence to privacy regulations requires the clerk to consistently apply confidentiality practices, safeguarding sensitive patient information throughout all interactions.
