    CNA / Medical Assistant – Pediatric Nurse Technician

    Pediatric Specialty Care at Lancaster | Lancaster, PAFull & Part-time | 12-hour day and night shifts

    Are you a CNA, Medical Assistant, Patient Care Technician, Direct Support Professional, or experienced caregiver looking for work where you can build lasting relationships with the children you support?

    Pediatric Specialty Care at Lancaster is hiring Nurse Technicians to provide hands-on care and daily support to medically fragile children in a warm, home-like residential setting. CNA or Medical Assistant certification is preferred, but it is not required. We welcome candidates with relevant healthcare, caregiving, pediatric, disability-support, or personal-care experience who are ready to learn.

    Available 12-hour shifts

    • Day shift: 7:00 a.m.–7:30 p.m.
    • Night shift: 7:00 p.m.–7:30 a.m.

    Pediatric Specialty Care at Lancaster is a 34-bed residential care facility supporting children with complex medical, developmental, and daily-living needs. As a Nurse Technician, you will work alongside nurses, respiratory therapists, therapy professionals, and other members of the care team. You will get to know the children you support, understand their individual routines and abilities, and help create a safe, engaging environment where they can grow and participate in everyday life.

    This may be a strong next step if you have worked as a:

    • Certified Nursing Assistant or Nursing Assistant
    • Medical Assistant
    • Patient Care Technician
    • Direct Support Professional
    • Home Health Aide or Personal Care Aide
    • Pediatric caregiver
    • Behavioral-health or developmental-disability support professional
    • Childcare professional with hands-on healthcare or personal-care experience

    Responsibilities

    What You’ll Do As a Pediatric Nurse Technician (CNA/Medical Assistant)

    • Assist children with bathing, dressing, toileting, positioning, mobility, and other activities of daily living
    • Support safe transfers using beds, wheelchairs, lifts, and other assistive equipment
    • Help prepare children for meals and provide feeding assistance according to individual care plans
    • Obtain vital signs and perform additional clinical support duties after training and competency validation
    • Assist with range-of-motion activities and ostomy care within the position’s approved scope
    • Observe children closely and promptly report changes in condition to the supervising nurse
    • Document care, meals, activities, and other required information in the medical record
    • Support activities that promote physical, emotional, developmental, and social well-being
    • Help maintain a clean, organized, comfortable, and age-appropriate living environment
    • Collaborate with nursing, therapy, respiratory, activities, and other team members
    • Assist with transportation and accompany children to appointments when assigned

    Qualifications

    Qualifications to be a Pediatric Nurse Technician:

    Required:

    • High school diploma or GED
    • At least 21 years of age
    • Current CPR and First Aid certification
    • Current, valid driver’s license
    • Patience, empathy, flexibility, and an interest in supporting children with a range of medical and developmental needs
    • Ability to lift, push, pull, or carry up to 35 pounds as required by the position
    • This position requires regular interaction with residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors. In order to ensure a safe work environment for residents, coworkers, visitors, and/or supervisors of the Company, and to permit unfettered communication between the employee and those residents, coworkers, visitors, and supervisors, this position requires that the employee be able to read, write, speak, and understand the English language at an intermediate or more advanced level.

    Preferred—but not required:

    • Nursing Assistant/CNA certification
    • Medical Assistant certification
    • Experience in healthcare, pediatric care, home care, direct support, personal care, or a related setting
