    Payroll Officer - Part Time

    Your New Opportunity:

    An exciting opportunity is available for a Payroll Officer to join our supportive and collaborative Payroll Team in Wacol, QLD, on a permanent part-time basis.

     We’re flexible in relation to the hours you would like to work each day and what time you would like to work these (between 7am and 5pm Mon – Fri) approximately 4–5 hours per day, 5 days per week. The ideal candidate would also have the flexibility to increase their hours when other team members are on leave etc.

    Reporting to the HR Shared Solutions Manager, you’ll be part of the Payroll Team supporting the accurate and timely processing of weekly, fortnightly and monthly payrolls across Australia and New Zealand.

    This role would suit someone with payroll experience looking to build on their skills, as well as someone with strong administration or data entry experience who is keen to develop a career in payroll. You’ll receive support and training as you become familiar with our systems, processes and pay runs.

    You’ll assist with payroll queries, maintaining accurate employee data, reporting and broader HR administration, while gaining exposure to a range of payroll processes.

    What will you be doing?

    • Assisting with our weekly, fortnightly or monthly payrolls for Australian and New Zealand employees, including PAYG withholding tax, payday super, salary sacrifice, leave, allowances and workers compensation payments.
    • Maintaining and updating payroll data across iChris, Kronos and our HRIS, ensuring data is accurate and up to date.
    • Managing the payroll inbox and responding to employee, manager and stakeholder queries in a timely and professional manner.
    • Assisting with payroll checks, reconciliations and ensuring transactions are processed accurately.
    • Supporting payroll and HR projects and identifying opportunities to improve processes.
    • Collaborating with HR and operational teams to support payroll and employee administration.
    • Maintaining accurate documentation and employee payroll records.
    • Providing regular and ad hoc payroll reporting and analysis as required.

    Are you the one?

    • Payroll processing experience is advantageous, however we’re also open to candidates with strong administration or data entry experience who are keen to learn payroll.
    • High attention to detail and a strong focus on data accuracy.
    • Ability to manage competing deadlines in a fast-paced, time-sensitive environment.
    • Confident working with systems, numbers and data, with the ability to learn new systems quickly.
    • Experience using iChris and/or Kronos is advantageous but not essential.
    • Basic understanding of payroll, employment conditions or relevant legislation is advantageous, with training and support provided.
    • Strong Excel skills or a willingness to develop your Excel skills.
    • Excellent communication skills and a customer-focused approach.
    • Conscientious, organised and proactive, with a willingness to learn.
    • Ability to work independently and as part of a supportive team.
