    Job description

    Maintenir la direction artistique et la qualité

    • Collaborer avec les responsables et les autres artistes éclairagistes afin de créer des schémas d'éclairage de grande qualité, en accord avec l'univers et la direction artistique du projet.
    • Éclairage de scènes ou de niveaux à partir de photos de référence et/ou de documents d'art conceptuel.
    • Contribuez à faire ressortir la narration en utilisant efficacement les couleurs, la lumière et l'ambiance.

    Production/Delais

    • Réaliser l'éclairage de scènes, de niveaux ou de séquences cinématiques en respectant à la fois les contraintes créatives et techniques, dans le respect des délais fixés.

     Retour d'information

    • Participer aux évaluations, s'adapter et mettre en œuvre le retour d'information des responsables et des pairs d'une manière professionnelle .

    Collaboration/Communication 

    • Participer à des initiatives de R&D, afin d'explorer de nouvelles techniques et de mettre en pratique des améliorations aux pipelines et aux procédures de travail
    • Collaborer avec des développeurs provenant de différentes disciplines et veiller à ce que leur travail soit intégré à la production

    • Veiller à maintenir un équilibre entre la qualité visuelle et les exigences de performance du jeu.
    • Vérifiez et testez votre travail dans l'éditeur et en jeu.

    Job Description:

    Maintain artistic direction and quality

    • Work with the Leads and other Lighting Artists to create high-quality lighting schemes in keeping with the project's universe and visual direction.
    • Lighting of scenes or levels based on reference photographs and/or concept art materials.
    • Help to drive the narrative storytelling through effective use of color, light and mood.

    Production/Deadline

    • Lighting scenes / levels or cinematics to both a creative and technical brief under set deadlines.

    Feedback

    • Participate in reviews, adapt to, and implement feedback from leads and peers in a professional manner.

    Collaboration/Communication 

    • Participate in R&D initiatives, to explore new techniques and implement improvements to pipelines and workflows.
    • Work with developers in multiple disciplines and ensure that work gets integrated into the build.

    Other artistic specificity

    • Maintain a balance between visual quality and performance requirements for the game.
    • Review and playtest your work in the editor and in-game.
    • 3 ans ou plus dans le développement de jeux AAA pour consoles/PC, dont 1 an dans unreal engine
    • Un portfolio solide présentant des exemples de réalisations d'éclairage à l'échelle mondiale et locale.
    • Interpréter artistiquement des concepts ou pousser la créativité au-delà de l'idée initiale.
    • Une bonne compréhension des compétences artistiques traditionnelles ainsi que des compétences fondamentales en matière de conception (forme, texture, valeur et couleur).
    • Connaissance approfondie des processus de rendu basé sur la physique.
    • Bonne compréhension des limites et des possibilités en matière de performances de la génération actuelle de consoles.
    • Capacité à créer l'ensemble du contenu nécessaire à l'éclairage, notamment, mais sans s'y limiter, les textures, les profils lumineux IES, les cartes HDR, les matériaux, les programmes, etc.

    Autres spécificités artistiques

    • Maîtrise des concepts de base de la photographie, tels que l’indice de lumination, la vitesse d'obturation, la sensibilité ISO, la composition, etc.
    • Adaptif (-ive).
    • Capacité à recevoir et à mettre en pratique un retour d'information
    • Volonté d'apprendre et de s'adapter à de nouveaux styles, techniques et flux de travail.
    • Capacité à collaborer avec les responsables de département et les différents départements pour résoudre les problèmes artistiques et techniques..
    • Excellente aptitudes à la communication orale et écrite en anglais

    Vous avez peut-être:

    • Diplôme dans un domaine artistique
    • Photographie.
    • Bonne maîtrise d'Unreal Engine
    • Connaissance pratique des moteurs de rendu tels que Renderman, V-Ray ou Arnold.
    • Présentation d'images illustrant les différentes étapes ou l'état d'avancement des travaux d'éclairage achevés.

    Qualifications:

    • 3+ years in AAA console/PC game development including 1 year in unreal engine
    • Strong portfolio showcasing examples of world and local lighting work.
    • Artistically interpret concepts or creatively push beyond an initial ideation.
    • A solid understanding of traditional art skills along with foundational design competencies (shape, form, texture, value and color).
    • In depth knowledge of Physically Based Rendering workflows.
    • Good understanding of performance limitations and possibilities of current console generation.
    • Ability to create all content needed for lighting including but not limited to textures, IES profiles, HDR maps, materials, scripts, etc.
    • Other artistic specificity
    • Understanding of basic photography concepts like EV, shutter speed, ISO, composition, etc.
    • Adaptive.
    • Ability to receive and implement feedback.
    • Willingness to learn and adapt to new styles, techniques and workflows.
    • Ability to collaborate with department leads, and different departments to solve artistic and technical challenges.
    • Strong verbal and written communication skills in English.

    Nice to have:

    • Degree in any art field.
    • Photography.
    • Good Unreal Engine knowledge
    • Working knowledge of rendering engines such as Renderman, VRAy, or Arnold.
    • Showing breakdown or work-in-progress images of finished lighting work.
