Payroll Manager

• Oversee the accurate and timely processing of payroll for a multi-location, multi-union enterprise, ensuring compliance with government regulations and relevant CBA’s.

• Lead and support payroll team members, fostering a collaborative and high-performance work environment.
• Co-lead change management initiatives related to payroll with the Payroll specialists, promoting adoption of new processes and technologies.
• Support internal and external audits and audit payroll data, including earnings, deductions, and benefits, to ensure accuracy and compliance.
• Investigate and resolve payroll issues, discrepancies, and employee concerns effectively to support the team of payroll specialists.
• Optimize and maintain payroll software system ADP WFN and payroll processes in conjunction with the Payroll administrators for enhanced efficiency and accuracy.
• Generate and analyze payroll and financial reports, providing insights and recommendations to management.
• Oversee year-end payroll activities and accurate administration of benefit deductions, pension contributions, and other entitlements.
• Create departmental KPI and monitor performance
• Collaborate with the Finance team to insure accurate GL files

• Post-secondary education in payroll, accounting, or related business program
• Successful completion of Canadian Payroll Association certification, a designation of PCP or PLP (formerly CPM) (preferred)
• Minimum 5 years leadership experience in a multi-location environment, including experience with hourly and salaried payroll
• Experience using ADP WFN will be considered a major asset
• A strong understanding of collective agreements
