Job Summary

As a Project Engineer at pH7, you will support project execution and early development initiatives that drive business growth and advance emerging technologies, including reactor- and heap-based processing for recovery of critical metals.  This role involves collaborating with various stakeholders, including project leadership, engineers, operations, external vendors to implement technical solutions, and ensuring safe, efficient project execution and that objectives of a project are met.

What You’ll Do

• Expedite and review engineering deliverables to ensure alignment with cost, schedule, and quality expectations
• Provide technical input into cost estimates, project schedules, design strategies, and value‑improvement initiatives at pH7
• Support project management with technical input as required through:
  • Commercial development
  • Stakeholder engagement
  • Regulatory
  • Design
  • Procurement
  • Construction
  • Commissioning and start-up
  • Performance testing and close-out
• Expedite and coordinate technical reviews with internal and external parties, at the office and on site, as required by project management
• Support cost tracking and schedule progressing
• Support reporting for leadership audience
  
• Support commissioning and start‑up through technical problem‑solving and punch‑list resolution
  
• Manage engineering scope changes and ensure compliance with pH7 specs, quality and safety standards
  
• Ensure stakeholder compliance with pH7 specs, quality and safety standards

What You’ll Need

• Relevant experience in project execution, project engineering or coordination (3+ years).  
• Engineering (Mechanical, Civil disciplines strongly preferred, Chemical potentially considered) degree or relevant experience.
• Familiarity with chemical or mining extraction projects and processes.
  
• Experience in brownfield projects and implementing change at operating plants.
  
• Ability to work with multidisciplinary internal and external teams, including EPCM/EPC partners, and to apply subject-matter expertise effectively.

How You’ll Stand Out

• Experience in project development is an asset.
• Current registration in good standing with EGBC as a professional engineer or EIT is preferred but not required.
• Self-motivation and efficiency in time management and organizational skills.
  
• Ability to identify and reduce risk in technical solutions, and implement them in day-to-day project work.
  
• Ability to multi-task in a varied and fast paced environment.
  
• Basic mechanical and electrical aptitude.
  
• Strong interpersonal, organizational, and communication skills.
  
• Critical thinking when implementing project objectives.
  

Working Hours & Environment

This is a full-time, on-site role, Monday - Friday, at pH7 Technologies’ plant in South Burnaby, BC, reporting to the Project and Commissioning Manager. Most work is performed in an office environment. Frequent site visits are required. The annual salary range for this position is $90,000 to $120,000, based on experience and qualifications.
