A Vac Truck Operator/Driver is responsible for operating/driving our custom designed, purpose built hydrovac excavation truck to perform safe, non-destructive excavation utilizing pressurized air or water and vacuum collection. This work will support critical communication infrastructure repair and construction in all landscapes from city based in road work to remote location digs.
Specifically, you would be responsible for performing the following tasks to the highest standards:
- Safe transport, operation, maintenance, and upkeep of Vac Truck
- Laboring as needed with the crew
- Ability to read and understand job plans in order to layout and execute work
- Driving productivity to ensure timeliness of project completion and quality of work performed
- Troubleshooting project complexities, communicating concerns/solutions accordingly
- Monitoring, maintaining, and troubleshooting field operation of the hydrovac unit and allied equipment
- Recommending equipment, vehicle and PPE needs for the scope of work presented
- Executing all work in a safe, productive, efficient manner per company standards
- Valid Unrestricted CDL A Driver’s license preferred, minimum unrestricted CDL B required
- MA Hydraulics RI Hydraulics License preferred
- Current OSHA 10 Certification preferred
- Previous equipment operator, trucking, vacuum truck, jetter, hydrovac or other related industrial experience preferred
- Ability to work independently and in a collaborative team environment with an uncompromising focus on safety
- Technical/Mechanical ability is highly preferred
- Must be able to work any shift
- Must have the ability to travel up to 25% of time, including overnight(s)
