    Job description

    Position Summary: The Safety Supervisor directs the safety program for an assigned area of Pike by leading a team of QEPs (Quality & Employee Performance Leads) and Safety Coordinators. This role sets the team's priorities, holds them accountable for field coverage, training, and coaching results, and uses the trends they surface to focus resources where risk is highest. The Safety Supervisor owns customer safety relationships for the assigned area, represents Safety in customer and Operations leadership discussions, and is accountable for the area's overall safety performance.

    Essential functions:

    • Directly supervise and manage the assigned team of QEPs (Quality & Employee Performance Leads) and Safety Coordinators — setting territory and crew priorities, holding the team accountable to field visit, training, and coaching targets, and developing their performance. 

    • Review area-level observation and coaching trends surfaced by the safety team, direct where the team's time and attention go next, and escalate systemic or repeat issues to Operations leadership.

    • Serve as a point of contact for customer safety and EHS issues within the assigned area and represent the Safety function in customer and Operations discussions.

    • Lead or oversee root cause analysis for significant incidents and near misses in the assigned area.

    • Ensure mandated safety training completion (Core Report) is completed for the assigned area.

    • Recruit, coach, and performance-manage QEPs and Safety Coordinators, providing mentorship and development opportunities consistent with Company leadership expectations.

    • Drive the area toward a zero-incidence goal by ensuring safety programs are properly resourced, staffed, and continuously improved.

    Minimum Responsibilities:

    • 10 years of experience in the industry 

    • Strong written, presentational, influencing and communication skills.

    • Experience as a “change agent” that can work effectively with all levels of the company.

    • Ability to work in a fast-paced environment.

    • Ability to travel frequently within large geographical area. 

    • Strong problem-solving skills.

    • Strong knowledge in the energy sector. 

    • Ability to work with all levels of the company in a collegial and relationship building fashion and act as a mentor to field supervision and operations personnel.

    • Strong technical background in electricity and construction best practices as well as occupational health and safety and construction safety.

    • High School degree or equivalent. 

    • Construction Health and Safety Technician or Manager of Environmental, Safety and Health Certificate preferred.
