Pilot Company is seeking an Internal Audit Intern to join our team in Knoxville, Tennessee, for the summer of 2027. This is a unique opportunity to directly improve operational efficiency by participating in audits, evaluating policies and procedures for compliance, and identifying areas for improvement.

In this role, you'll be an integral part of the Internal Audit team, working on our annual audit plan and potentially participating in surprise store audits. This is an ideal position for a student who is eager to apply their education to real-life corporate processes and policies, with the potential to independently own a project that makes a positive impact on the organization.

    • Support Store Audits: Assist with  store audits, which may involve some travel (all travel costs will be covered by Pilot).

    • Apply your education: Apply your academic knowledge to real-life corporate processes and policies, gaining practical application of your skills.

    • Data analysis: Use tools like Excel and Tableau to perform general audit and sampling techniques.

    • Lead a project: Have the opportunity to independently own a project that has a positive impact on the organization.

    What We’re Looking For

    • Education: Currently pursuing a degree in Accounting, Finance, or a related business major. An interest in process design or industrial design is a plus.

    • Technical Skills: Proficiency in Excel is essential. A basic understanding of data visualization tools like Tableau is a plus. Experience with general audit and sampling techniques is also beneficial.

    • Soft Skills: A strong ability to communicate effectively with stakeholders at varying levels, a keen eye for detail, curiosity, and excellent problem-solving skills. We're looking for someone who is a collaborative and reliable team player.

    • Experience: Participation in organizations like Beta Alpha Psi or holding a leadership role such as a group treasurer is a plus.

    Why Pilot Company?

Our culture is built on four core virtues: Driven, Reliable, Authentic, and Welcoming. As an intern, you will see these values in action every day. You'll be part of a team that is driven to improve processes, reliable in its commitment to compliance, authentic in its communication, and welcoming to new ideas and perspectives.

This is a full-time, in-person internship, dates TBD. You’ll be working alongside our team in our Knoxville headquarters, where you’ll have the opportunity to build meaningful relationships and experience the full scope of life at Pilot Company.
