    Position Summary

As a Personal Trainer, you will design and deliver safe, effective, and personalized fitness programs that help members improve their health, build confidence, and achieve their wellness goals. Through expert coaching, education, and motivation, you will create an engaging and supportive environment that encourages long-term success.

The majority of your time will be spent working directly with members through personal training sessions, fitness consultations, new member onboarding, and complimentary fitness services. Success in this role requires more than technical expertise—it requires a welcoming, professional, and relationship-driven approach that delivers an exceptional member experience every day.

    Key Responsibilities

    • Conduct comprehensive fitness consultations, including health history reviews, lifestyle assessments, movement screenings, and goal setting.

    • Design and implement safe, effective, and individualized fitness programs based on each member's goals, abilities, and fitness level.

    • Deliver engaging one-on-one personal training sessions that educate, motivate, and inspire members while monitoring progress and adjusting programs to maximize results.

    • Instruct members on the proper and safe use of cardiovascular, strength, flexibility, and functional training equipment.

    • Deliver exceptional customer service by creating a welcoming, professional, and supportive training environment.

    • Build strong, lasting relationships with members that foster trust, accountability, and long-term retention.

    • Collaborate with fellow trainers and club staff to provide a seamless, high-quality member experience.

    • Promote personal training services and educate members on programs and services that support their health and wellness goals.

    • Accurately maintain client records, session notes, scheduling, and all required documentation in a timely manner.

    • Maintain a clean, organized, and safe fitness environment by ensuring equipment is properly maintained and sanitized.

    • Maintain all required certifications and actively pursue continuing education to stay current with industry trends and best practices.

    • Perform other duties and responsibilities as assigned in support of departmental operations and the overall member experience.

    Professional Qualifications

    • Current Personal Trainer certification from a nationally recognized certifying organization required.

    • Current CPR and AED certification required, or the ability to obtain certification within an established timeframe (training provided by The Company).

    • Minimum of two (2) years of experience designing and delivering one-on-one personal training programs.

    • Bachelor's degree in Kinesiology, Exercise Science, Sports Medicine, or a related field preferred.

    • Demonstrated knowledge of exercise physiology, functional movement, program design, strength and cardiovascular training, and fundamental nutrition principles.

    • Ability to assess individual fitness levels, develop safe and effective training programs, and modify programming based on member progress and member needs.

    Personal Qualities & Soft Skills

    The ideal candidate:

    • Demonstrates a hospitality mindset and is passionate about helping members achieve their health and wellness goals.

    • Delivers exceptional customer service by creating welcoming, positive, and memorable member experiences.

    • Builds strong relationships through professionalism, empathy, and effective communication.

    • Works collaboratively with teammates and contributes to a positive, respectful, and supportive workplace culture.

    • Takes initiative, demonstrates sound judgment, and proactively identifies opportunities to enhance the member experience.

    • Brings enthusiasm, positivity, and encouragement to every member interaction.

    • Demonstrates accountability, integrity, dependability, and a strong work ethic.

    • Adapts effectively to changing priorities and thrives in a fast-paced, member-focused environment.

    • Demonstrates a commitment to continuous learning, professional development, and maintaining industry knowledge.

    Working Conditions & Physical Demands

    • Perform the physical demands of the position, including frequent standing, walking, bending, reaching, kneeling, squatting, and demonstrating exercises for extended periods.

    • Safely lift, move, and handle equipment weighing up to 50 pounds.

    • Assist members with proper exercise techniques, equipment setup, and safe movement patterns as appropriate.

    • Safely operate and demonstrate cardiovascular, strength, and functional fitness equipment.

    • Maintain awareness of member safety and respond appropriately to emergencies in accordance with Company policies and procedures.

    • Work in an active, fast-paced fitness environment with frequent interaction with members and staff.
