Job Summary:
The Maintenance Technician II is responsible for performing intermediate to advanced-level maintenance, repairs, and troubleshooting on production equipment, utilities, and plant infrastructure. This role supports line uptime, ensures equipment is functioning safely and efficiently, and participates in preventative and corrective maintenance programs. The ideal candidate has strong mechanical and electrical skills, previous manufacturing experience, and a proactive, safety-first mindset.
Key Responsibilities:
Preventive & Corrective Maintenance Perform routine maintenance on production lines, utilities, and facility systems Troubleshoot mechanical, pneumatic, hydraulic, and minor electrical issues Replace worn components, align equipment, and calibrate as needed Use CMMS to complete work orders and log repair history Equipment Support & Troubleshooting Respond quickly to equipment breakdowns to minimize downtime Assist with machine startups, changeovers, and performance adjustments Identify root causes of recurring issues and recommend corrective actions Support continuous improvement initiatives on the shop floor Safety, Compliance & Documentation Follow LOTO (Lockout/Tagout) and all OSHA safety standards Maintain clean, organized, and hazard-free work areas Ensure all tools and parts are used/stored correctly Accurately complete all maintenance logs and equipment records Cross-Functional Support Collaborate with Production, Quality, and Sanitation teams to ensure smooth operations Assist in training or mentoring Maintenance Technician I team members Support equipment installation, upgrades, and project work as needed Key Performance Indicators (KPIs): Equipment Uptime : Reduced unplanned line stoppages Response Time : Fast resolution of maintenance requests PM Completion Rate : On-time execution of preventative tasks Repeat Repairs : Reduction in recurring failures Safety Compliance : No violations or incidents Work Order Accuracy : Timely and detailed completion of maintenance logs
