    Job Description:

When you join us, you’ll become a part of a nationally recognized health system dedicated to our mission of “helping people live the healthiest lives possible.” Brighton combines a welcoming community atmosphere with rich cultural roots, featuring a lively downtown of local shops and breweries, annual events like the Adams County Fair, and easy access to Denver’s urban amenities.

    About this role:

As a General Surgeon, you will work with a team of healthcare professionals committed to providing quality care and excellent patient experience. In this role, you will provide acute care surgical services at Platte Valley Hospital on an as-needed basis. Typical procedures include appendectomies, cholecystectomies, and other general surgery cases.

Weekend call coverage runs from Friday morning through Monday morning, with a minimum commitment of one weekend per month. During coverage, you’ll round on 4–10 patients, perform an average of 3–4 surgeries, and participate in trauma handoff and patient management. There is also an option to hold a PRN clinic on Friday mornings for follow-up visits.

You’ll join a collaborative team of three experienced surgeons and one advanced practice provider in a supportive environment that values teamwork and patient-centered care. We’re seeking a surgeon who is comfortable working independently, preferably with trauma experience.

    • Location: Platte Valley Hospital
    • Schedule: Schedule: Friday 7:00 AM – Monday 7:00 AM (weekend call coverage)
    • Call Coverage: Unrestricted call with <20-minute response time
    • Minimum Commitment: One weekend per month

    What you’ll bring:

    • Minimum of two years post-training experience
    • MD or DO degree from a fully accredited medical or osteopathic school of medicine
    • ACGME Residency training in General Surgery
    • Board certification or eligibility in General Surgery
    • ATLS and ACLS certifications required
    • Active, unobstructed Colorado medical license, or the ability to obtain one
    • Ability to successfully complete Intermountain Health’s credentialing process

    How we'll support you:
