Shift: 6:25am to 5:05pm Monday – Thursday
The position of Production Shift Lead is responsible to ensure the shift, including each line, runs safely, smoothly, efficiently and with high quality. This includes oversight of safety, interfacing with support functions, mechanical issues, set-up, quality and personnel.
Position Specific Responsibilities:
- Effectively help support safety protocol. This includes identification & correction of safety hazards, continuous communication and promotion of safety and safe work practices
- Help ensure quality for both internal & external customers is efficient and defect-free
- Oversee operation activities in accordance with policies and procedures; including the assignment of work stations when required
- Help perform physical audits of the production work performed, monitoring against productivity & quality standards, informing management of all issues/concerns
- Work with shift members to improve efficiency without sacrifice of safety or quality
- Communicate, investigate and correct any product quality exceptions and issues
- Facilitate training for shift members
- Promote a positive & productive team environment, leading by example
- Assist in measuring and monitoring area performance utilizing PLZ specific metrics
- Ensure good housekeeping throughout the shift; initiating and following Lean practices
- Focus on maintaining scheduling requirements, communicating issues in a timely manner
- Implement PLZ systems and processes to sustain PLZ improvement activities. This includes coaching, teaching, mentoring and utilizing a problem solving approach across the team
- Demonstrate flexibility to meet the needs of the shift
- Provide weekly SQI summary to management as requested
- Provide performance feedback regarding team members to individuals for corrective coaching and to management
