Kitchen Steward

Great Circle Catering is a multifaceted catering company that cultivates teamwork, individuality, creativity, and education. We operate a diverse commissary kitchen that caters by land, air, and sea. Our team gets to be creative and produce a variety of food ranging from fine dining to large-scale production.  We are seeking an experienced kitchen steward to join our culinary team.

DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES

? Work independently in the dish area, cleaning dishes and pans

? Accept food orders and put products away, making sure to rotate stock properly

? Help chefs with light food prep

? Work on various assigned cleaning projects

? Comply with all applicable sanitation regulations and safety standards

? Communicate effectively with teammates and GCC leadership

? Maintain a positive and professional approach with coworkers and clients

? Other duties as assigned

REQUIRED SKILLS/ABILITIES

? 3+ years of verifiable work experience

? Attention to detail

? Ability to follow instructions

? Ability to work independently and as part of a team

? Excellent interpersonal communication skills

? Excellent time management skills

? Ability to remain calm and courteous under pressure

? Experience in large-scale production, preferred

? Ability to work a flexible schedule

? ServSafe Certification or ability to obtain upon hire

? Valid Driver’s License

? Reliable transportation

? Must pass a drug screen and background check

PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS

? Ability to lift 50+ lbs

? Ability to stand for long periods of time

· 80 hours paid vacation, accrued weekly at 1.53 hours per week
