Day to day responsibilities include:
- Hands-on development for PortX customer integration projects.
- Build and enhance APIs, backend services, and integration components across modern banking and payments environments.
- Design, develop, test, and maintain high-quality solutions for PortX customer integration projects.
- Use modern AI tools responsibly to accelerate engineering productivity, code quality, testing, and documentation.
- Troubleshoot, diagnose, and resolve customer-reported technical issues in a timely manner, including root cause analysis and permanent fixes where appropriate.
- Participate in architectural and technical design discussions, helping define robust, secure, and maintainable solutions.
- Contribute to deployment, configuration, and operational support processes across cloud-based environments, primarily AWS.
- Write clean, maintainable, well-tested code and contribute to continuous improvement of engineering standards, tooling, and development practices.
- Collaborate with cross-functional teams to improve system performance, reliability, observability, and scalability.
- Create and maintain technical documentation relating to implementations, integrations, troubleshooting, and support handover.
Required skills:
- Enterprise integration and implementation experience: APIs, event-driven architecture, integration platforms/iPaaS
- Hands on experience with containerization
- Experience with consuming web services, REST and SOAP based architecture
- Hands on experience with deploying to AWS platform
- Hands on experience with GIT
- Hands on experience with Maven
- Demonstrated hands-on expertise with AI developer tools (e.g., GitHub Copilot, GPT-powered coding assistants, automated test writers etc.
Preferred skills:
- Banking, credit union, or payments domain experience (core banking systems, digital banking, ACH/ISO 20022).
- Hands on experience with integration framework, such as Apache Camel
- Demonstrated technical architectural design capability from past projects
