    Assistant Dean of Faculty

    Location: Albuquerque, NM (Albuquerque Campus) | On-Site

    Type: Full-Time | Salaried Exempt

    Department: Academic Leadership / Management

    Compensation: $70,935 – $88,670 per year

    Position Summary

    Lead, mentor, and empower academic faculty at Pima Medical Institute! We are seeking an experienced Assistant Dean of Faculty to join our leadership team at the Albuquerque campus .

    Working in close collaboration with the Campus Director and corporate Dean of Faculty, you will drive excellence across on-ground certificate program instruction, faculty onboarding, professional development, and classroom environment management . If you are a higher education leader with a background in health professions education, teaching methodologies, and instructional technology, this role offers an outstanding platform to shape student success and faculty engagement .

    Key Responsibilities

    Faculty Supervision, Recruitment & Onboarding:

    • Supervision & Recruitment: Supervise all on-ground certificate program faculty . Participate in recruiting, screening, interviewing, and recommending candidates for faculty appointments .

    • Onboarding & Training: Lead the orientation of new faculty hires to institutional policies, curricula, and instructional platforms . Ensure total adherence to ABHES/accreditation standards and Pima Medical Institute guidelines .

    • Observations & Evaluations: Conduct annual classroom observations for all on-ground instructors, providing actionable feedback and guiding formal performance evaluations .

    Instructional Excellence & Faculty Development:

    • Professional Development: Develop, coordinate, and facilitate continuing education opportunities, workshops, and 1:1 mentorship focusing on educational technology and best teaching practices .

    • Curriculum Alignment: Coordinate up-to-date curriculum implementation in partnership with the Home Office Education Department .

    • Survey & Data Analysis: Review end-of-course student survey reports, utilizing feedback and observation data to mentor instructors and drive instructional improvement .

    Academic Operations & Campus Governance:

    • Student Success Metrics: Monitor campus-wide student retention and success metrics, collaborating to design and implement targeted academic support initiatives .

    • Lab & Advisory Management: Oversee classroom/lab equipment integrity, maintain electronic faculty compliance files, and facilitate program Advisory Board meetings .

    • Campus Life: Participate in leadership meetings, graduation ceremonies, and student-centric campus events .

    Minimum Requirements

    • Education: Bachelor’s degree in education, curriculum, health science, or a related field from an institution accredited by an agency recognized by USDE or CHEA .

    • Teaching Experience: Minimum of five (5) years of classroom teaching experience in health professions education .

    • EdTech Proficiency: Minimum of five (5) years of experience utilizing educational technology tools in classroom/hybrid settings .

    • Leadership Experience: Demonstrated higher education leadership or management experience .

    • Technical Skills: Advanced proficiency with Microsoft Office (Word, Excel, PowerPoint), video-conferencing platforms, and computer/internet applications .

    • An equivalent combination of training, education, or management experience meeting minimum qualifications will be considered .

    Preferred Qualifications:

    • Master’s degree in education, curriculum, health science, or a related field .

    • Five (5) or more years of higher education academic leadership/management experience .

    • Hiring Range: $70,935 to $88,670 per year (Salaried Exempt).
