Behavioral Specialist Summary
The Behavioral Specialist provides prevention, intervention, and behavioral health support services to students in a school-based setting. Working under the direction of the Program Manager, this position collaborates with students, families, school personnel, and community partners to improve student well-being, reduce barriers to learning, and promote academic, emotional, and social success. The Behavioral Specialist delivers evidence-based behavioral interventions, crisis support, care coordination, and psychoeducation while working toward independent clinical licensure.

Provide school-based behavioral health services to children and adolescents.
Complete behavioral screenings and assist with biopsychosocial assessments.
Develop, implement, and monitor individualized behavioral intervention plans.
Provide individual, family, and group behavioral support as appropriate under supervision.
Teach coping skills, emotional regulation, conflict resolution, communication, and problem-solving techniques.
Respond to behavioral health crises using trauma-informed and de-escalation techniques.
Collaborate with teachers, administrators, parents, healthcare providers, and community agencies to coordinate services.
Maintain timely, accurate, and compliant documentation within the electronic health record.
Participate in multidisciplinary team meetings and case consultations.
Monitor student progress and adjust interventions based on clinical need.
Maintain confidentiality in accordance with HIPAA, FERPA, and organizational policies.
Participate in supervision, required trainings, and professional development.
Support quality improvement initiatives and organizational performance goals.
Perform other duties as assigned.
