Position Summary
The YWCA Therapist provides professional mental health counseling services to clients experiencing emotional, behavioral, relationship, trauma-related, and psychological challenges. The therapist works within a trauma-informed framework to support individuals, families, and groups, helping clients achieve greater emotional well-being and stability. The position collaborates with community partners and internal programs to promote healing, empowerment, and self-sufficiency.
Essential Duties and Responsibilities
- Provide individual, family, and group therapy services.
- Conduct comprehensive behavioral health assessments and develop treatment plans.
- Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in accordance with agency, state, and licensing requirements.
- Provide crisis intervention and safety planning when necessary.
- Utilize evidence-based therapeutic interventions and trauma-informed practices.
- Monitor client progress and modify treatment plans as appropriate.
- Coordinate services with case managers, medical providers, schools, courts, and community agencies.
- Participate in clinical supervision and case consultation as required.
- Assist clients in identifying resources and support systems within the community.
- Ensure compliance with ethical standards, confidentiality requirements, and professional licensing regulations.

Qualifications
Education
- Master's degree in social work, Counseling, Marriage and Family Therapy, Psychology, or a related behavioral health field.
Experience
- Minimum 1-2 years of clinical counseling experience preferred.
- Experience working with trauma survivors, domestic violence victims, sexual assault survivors, children, and families preferred.
- Knowledge of trauma-informed care and evidence-based treatment modalities.
- Experience with crisis intervention and risk assessment preferred.
