B2 IDCC Technician - Tooling Technician

Like fixing things, working with your hands, and seeing the results of your work?

Prime Machine is looking for a Tooling Technician who takes pride in making things right.

This isn't a desk job—and it isn't just cleaning tools. You'll inspect, troubleshoot, refurbish, repair, and prepare customer-owned tooling that goes directly back into production.

When you're finished with a tool, it needs to be ready to work.

WHAT YOU'LL DO

• Inspect, clean, refurbish, and prepare customer tooling for production
• Read drawings and verify tooling meets requirements
• Identify wear, damage, rust, defects, or missing components
• Replace hardware and make necessary repairs
• Perform incoming tooling ID counts and condition inspections
• Restore tooling to a clean, production-ready condition
• Prioritize jobs to meet customer schedules and deadlines
• Accurately track jobs and time
• Help train and support other team members
• Keep your work area safe, clean, and organized

• You enjoy repairing, rebuilding, troubleshooting, or figuring out how things work.
• Can read a print

You can read mechanical drawings and understand dimensions. Basic GD&T knowledge is a plus. Notice the details.

You catch the loose bolt, damaged surface, missing hardware, or problem someone else might overlook. You don't just complete a task—you make sure the job is actually done right. Our customers have deadlines. Quality matters, but so does getting the tooling back into production.

EXPERIENCE THAT COULD TRANSFER WELL

• Know how to hustle without cutting corners

You don't necessarily need to come from a tooling shop. Experience in mechanical repair, machining, industrial maintenance, automotive/diesel, fabrication, assembly, equipment repair, or another hands-on mechanical trade could make you a strong candidate.

We're looking for mechanical aptitude, reliability, attention to detail, and a willingness to learn.
