    JOB TITLE: Assoc Quality Engineer
    CLIENT: A prominent Medical Devices Company
    CONTRACT: 12 months initial contract (04/24/2017 to 04/23/2018)- there is a possibility of extension
    LOCATION: North Haven Connecticut USA 06473
    Pay Rate: To be discussed over the phone
    Education Required: Associates Degree in Engineering or Sciences
    Education Preferred: Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Technical Certification in Electronics.
    Minimum

    Experience:

    A minimum of 3 years related experience. Medical device experience preferred.
    Years of Experience Required: None required if Education Requirement is met
    Top three must haves:

    • Some mechanical knowledge

      SUMMARY OF POSITION:
      -Conducts reliability testing and performs failure analysis.
      -Conducts the setting up and operating of test equipment, documenting results, analyzing systems, processes, product or equipment per detailed procedures.
      -Gathers and maintains data, drawings, and repairs or services instruments and equipment.
      -Works under close supervision and within defined parameters to provide technical support at a senior level.
      ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:
    • Supports Reliability Engineer in performing new and ongoing reliability testing.
    • Assists with root cause analysis, including data analysis (mining), identifying trends (systemic issues), and common cause issues for systems, peripherals, software and components of low to moderate complexity.
    • Provides technical troubleshooting skills to identify and propose solutions which support business objectives.
    • Recognizes common and generally routine problems of low to moderate complexity when they occur.
    • Sets up, maintains, repairs, calibrates and adjusts simple formulations, units and/or test equipment as directed.
    • Responsible for following inspection procedures and operating automated test equipment.
    • Assists in repairing/refurbishing the failed products during testing.
    • Assists with building test equipment, test stands and fixtures as needed.
    • Responsible for performing and documenting work per Quality Systems Regulations policies and procedures.
    • Performs specific tasks to generate data in a lab or product development setting.
    • Failure to achieve results may have moderate impact on schedules and programs.
    • Follows specific, detailed instructions and established procedures.
    • Problem solving is guided by well established policies and procedures and or precedent.
    • Contacts are primarily with immediate supervisor and other professionals in the department.
    • Provides technical support to other department staff members and may provide guidance to peers and or act as a lead or mentor to more junior technical personnel.
    • Ensures the maintenance of and adherence to good laboratory practices and all safety procedures.
      DEPARTMENT SPECIFIC/NON-ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS:

      MINIMUM

    REQUIREMENTS:


    Education Required: Associates Degree in Engineering or Sciences Education Preferred: Associate’s degree in Electrical Engineering or Technical Certification in Electronics. Minimum

    Experience:

    A minimum of 3 years related experience. Medical device experience preferred.
    Skills/Qualifications:

    • Basic understanding of own GBU.
    • Demonstrated knowledge of a specialized or technical field.
    • Understanding of basic laboratory equipment.
    • Effectively communicates and works cooperatively with immediate supervisor, other professional in the department.
    • Knowledge and understanding of Quality System Regulations
    • Strong attention to details and demonstrated knowledge in troubleshooting, repair and installation of electrical components and automation.
    • Mature verbal and written communication skills.
    • Ability to read and understand detailed schematics, instructions, and drawings.
    • Demonstrated knowledge in the use of electronic equipment such as oscilloscopes, logic analyzers, power supplies, multimeters, automated test equipment, etc. as well as microscopes, soldering irons, tweezers, crimpers, cutters and other hand tools.
    • Experience in testing, prototyping, evaluating and troubleshooting digital and analog electronic circuits.
    • Knowledge of machining, tool building and prototyping methodologies.
    • Knowledge of manufacturing methods/mathematics and materials.
    • Knowledge of and experience with disassembly and reassembly of systems and test benches.

    Skills:


    • Sound PC software knowledge.
    • Manual dexterity and eye-hand coordination to troubleshoot medical devices, including unaided and microscope visual inspection.
