Pullman Market, a vibrant culinary destination celebrated for its farm-to-table commitment, is looking for an enthusiastic and detail-oriented Cashier Team Member to join our esteemed team. As an integral part of our front end, you will ensure the checkout section is adequately stocked, maintain high levels of cleanliness and organization, and assist with stocking and replenishment of the checkout area. Your exceptional customer service skills will be crucial as you interact with patrons on the sales floor and at checkout, providing support and guidance. You will also be responsible for various tasks as assigned by the management, contributing to the seamless operation of our market and elevating the overall customer experience.
Operational Responsibilities:
- Uphold proper stocking, sanitation, and rotation practices within the front end section.
- Accurately and efficiently process customer orders.
- Operates a cash register, receives payment from customers, and makes change or process check/card transactions.
- Effectively controls cash levels and manages correct change being given and received by customers.
- Verify customer eligibility when selling alcoholic beverages.
- Offer friendly, knowledgeable, efficient and courteous service to customers by providing them with current market offerings and product information.
- Engage with customers on the sales floor, delivering top-notch service and guidance.
- Ensure register areas are kept clean, organized, and properly stocked.
- Perform other assigned tasks to support the overall function of the market.
Personal Requirements:
- Previous experience in customer service, hospitality, or retail is preferred.
- Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to multitask in a fast-paced environment.
- Flexibility to work evenings, weekends, and holidays as required.
- A genuine passion for locally sourced products and culinary offerings is advantageous.
- TABC certification.
Working Conditions:
- A typical work week for this position is 30-40 hours. Hours vary based on needs of the market and the department.
- This role involves prolonged standing, bending, stooping, twisting, lifting objects up to 45 pounds, and repetitive hand and wrist movements.
- Exposure to hot, cold, and potentially hazardous equipment is possible.
- Familiarity with office equipment such as phones, computers, fax machines, and copiers may be required.
