    Job Overview

We are currently seeking an experienced and confident Band 6 Adult Acute Speech and Language Therapist to join an established NHS acute team at Ealing Hospital in London.

This is an in-patient adult acute role, ideal for a therapist who is able to work independently within a fast-paced hospital environment. You will be responsible for managing a complex caseload, with a particular focus on the assessment and management of dysphagia, working closely with multidisciplinary colleagues to deliver high-quality, patient-centred care.

The post is initially offered for 3 months, with the option to extend based on service needs and performance.

    Key Responsibilities

    In this role, you will:

    • Independently assess, diagnose, and manage adult in-patient caseloads within an acute hospital setting

    • Provide expert assessment and treatment of dysphagia, including bedside and clinical swallowing assessments

    • Deliver evidence-based speech, language, and communication interventions for adults with complex medical needs

    • Work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team, including medical, nursing, and allied health professionals

    • Maintain accurate and timely clinical documentation in line with NHS and professional standards

    • Contribute to discharge planning and ongoing patient care reviews

    Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, you must have:

    • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent)

    • HCPC registration and eligibility for RCSLT membership

    • Proven experience working as a Band 6 SLT within an adult acute hospital setting

    • Demonstrated ability to manage dysphagia independently
