    Job Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled and motivated Paediatric Speech and Language Therapist to join a dynamic team supporting children aged 5 to 18 across mainstream primary and secondary schools in Lewisham.

Based at the Kaleidoscope centre in Catford, this role offers the opportunity to work within a collaborative and forward-thinking department dedicated to improving outcomes for children with a range of speech, language and communication needs.

This position is ideal for a therapist with experience in paediatrics who is confident working independently and contributing to multi-disciplinary approaches. You’ll be part of a supportive team that values innovation, reflective practice, and child-centred care.

    Key Responsibilities

    In this role, you will:

    • Independently assess, diagnose, manage, and evaluate outcomes for children with a range of speech, language and communication difficulties, including highly complex cases.
    • Contribute to multi-disciplinary assessments and interventions that are child-centred and outcome-focused.
    • Support the development and delivery of innovative therapy approaches and service models.
    • Monitor progress and maintain evidence-based clinical practice, with sensitivity to cultural and linguistic diversity.
    • Oversee your caseload, identifying areas of risk, emerging needs, and service development opportunities.
    • Provide professional advice to support Education and Health Care Needs Assessments and Plans.
    • Maintain professional accountability and supervise junior staff within clinical boundaries.
    • Adhere to Lewisham and Greenwich NHS Trust protocols and service guidelines.
    • Maintain accurate and comprehensive clinical records and reports.
    • Participate in clinical and safeguarding supervision.

    Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, you must have:

    • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
    • HCPC registration and eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
    • Experience working with children and young people in educational settings.
    • Strong communication and interpersonal skills.
    • A reflective and proactive approach to clinical practice and service improvement.
