Duration: 6 months (with the option to extend)

    Job Overview

We are currently seeking a skilled and passionate Speech and Language Therapist (SALT) to join a dynamic service in London, providing support across both special school and mainstream educational settings. You will work with primary and secondary-aged students, delivering high-quality assessment and intervention for children and young people with a range of speech, language, and communication needs (SLCN).

This position offers a diverse caseload, giving you the opportunity to make a meaningful difference across multiple educational environments. Whether you’re an experienced Band 6 therapist looking to develop your expertise or an established Band 7 seeking a new challenge, this is an exciting opportunity to contribute to improving communication outcomes for children and young people.

    Key Responsibilities

    In this role, you will:
    • Assess, diagnose, and manage a range of communication and language difficulties in children and young people.
    • Provide both direct and indirect therapy within mainstream and specialist school settings.
    • Collaborate with teachers, parents, and multidisciplinary professionals to develop and implement effective therapy plans.
    • Maintain accurate and up-to-date clinical records in accordance with professional standards and service policies.
    • Contribute to multidisciplinary meetings, reviews, and training sessions as required.
    • Support the development of communication-friendly environments within the school community.

    Qualifications and Experience

To be considered for this role, you must have:
    • A recognised degree in Speech and Language Therapy (or equivalent).
    • HCPC registration and eligibility for membership of the Royal College of Speech and Language Therapists (RCSLT).
    • Previous experience working with paediatric populations, ideally across both mainstream and special school settings.
    • Strong communication and teamwork skills, with the ability to collaborate effectively with school staff and families.
    • A flexible and proactive approach to service delivery.
